Sadly, I've been forced to drop out at the last minute due to a mystery stomach ailment. I'm gutted (almost literally it feels like), been looking forward to this for ages, but I plan to be back next year. In the meantime best of luck to all, enjoy the run, and for those doing the whw hope that goes well too. Will keep a keen eye on the site for results etc. See you next year.

Rotten bad luck FJ! :-(
Still, there will be other years & other races but I know only too well the disappointment of having to withdraw from a big event like this.
Are you going to come along to marshal? I found helping out with the race last year made up for some of the disappointment of not running it.

Hi George, I never got around to commiserating with you. Real shame you're not going to be there. I hoping to do a little catching up when we met.
Never mind, fingers crossed that everything's fine for the WHW.

Tim, I'd have loved to have been there, marshalling or just watching, but too ill to travel. Have a good day Sorry to here it. I hesitate to ask just what ails ye (I fear the details might be too graphic) but I think anything that screws up your hydration & fluid balance before an ultra is bad news and you're wise not to attempt it. My worst gut bug experience was with campylobacter which pushed my temp up to 104F (40C) before burning itself (and my bowel lining) out. Not a lot of fun.
