Great efforts from everyone who took part. What a race from front to back. Congratulations for all those who put their toe on line at Milngavie. Follow the link for a few photographs from Beinglas checkpoint flickr.com/photos/torbeg/sets/72157604756605149/

Just thought I'd highlight Lucy's performance. 37 minutes off of her time last year and only 45 minutes behind Jez and he's no slowcoach! Being a lady too it almost seem impolite to mention the fact that she's a vet as well. Just amazing.

I was fortunate enough to be supporting 7 Milburn Harriers running this years event. Three completed, the others being timed out at Beinn Glas. I must compliment everyone involved in the event on the organisation, camaraderie and atmosphere surrounding it. The patience of the officials at the checkpoints and the two sweepers, Mary Louise and Joe, who kept our runners company until their finish at Inverarnan. I'm just back from a "team debrief" over a lengthy sunday lunch where all concerned were delighted with a wonderful days running. However I must also compliment all the runners who took part, finishers or otherwise, for the dedication to their training over the winter and their success in running. For five of our members this was their first dip into Ultra running and for the two who finished, and the three who only made 42 miles, I am sure they all passed their own personal expectations of their achievements. Whether their finishing time or intermediate times earlier in the race. As they said today; "we have unfinished business".

Would like to echo all the comments above and say that Saturdays event was excellent throughout. Great support from spectators, runners, marshalls and organisers. Having dipped my toe (yup, the big swollen one with the black nail) into Ultra's once more since 9 years ago then I can say that the experience has left me wanting more! .....time to get my name on that Devil o' the Highlands reserve list and then back to the 'biggie' in 2009. Thanks to all involved and well done to everyone.

On behalf of all the my fellow relay runners from Central AC a big thank you to all concerned with what was a most excellent event. Even the four of us with fresh legs being brought on periodically could not catch Jezz! Well done to all the Full Flingers. Who knows -some of us might have had our appetite whetted sufficiently to try a wee bit further next year? For me, running the second leg, it was good warm-up race for the Edinburgh marathon in a few weeks time. How those doing the full thing keep going for 53 miles is beyond me. Respect to them all.
Best regards.

I'd like to add my thanks to Ellen, Murdo and all the support staff for the fantastic work they all did, both on Saturday and in the months leading upto the race day. This was my first ultra, and despite starting too fast (as usual!) I managed to finish.
I would also like to thank publicly my wife, Jan for all her support and her forthright way of telling me to buck up and get on with it when I was feeling rather low.

[Which thank you thread to post on.....]
Just like to echo the thanks to the organisers and all the runners supporters along the way. Another ultra virgin and this was a cracking way to start, definitely one for next year again.
Hope everyone is recovering well.
