SCOTTISH ULTRA TRAIL CHAMPIONSHIP
Hello all, some decisions have been made re. eligibility for the Scottish Ultra Trail Championships.
Firstly, all have be a paid up member of Scottish Athletics (irregardless of nationality).
Secondly, runners hoping to compete for the Scottish Championship medals have to run in the 8am start wave.
As stated before, any VET runners who want to change start time have be approved by Scottish Athletics (please can these runners contact me ASAP on john@highlandflingrace.org).
Many thanks and apologies again for any confusion.

SCOTTISH ATHLETICS ULTRA TRAIL CHAMPIONSHIPS: CLARIFICATION
Latest news from Scottish Athletics:
The winners of the Scottish championship medals will be based on the time the runner takes to run the 53 miles on Saturday. It does not matter which time runners they start, it is the runner’s time that matters. Therefore the winners of the Scottish Athletics Male medal could come from any of the 3 male starts times on Saturday.
An athlete can win more than one Championship Medal.
A new IFF rule change (which came into affect as of 1st April 2012) dictates that the Scottish Championship VET age category for both male and female is now V35+ (on day of race).
The SAL medals up for grabs on Saturday with be:
Male: 1st, 2nd 3rd
Male Vet (Vet 35): 1st, 2nd 3rd
Female: 1st, 2nd 3rd
Female (Vet 35): 1st, 2nd 3rd
Team Medal: 1st three eligible athletes in a club (cumulative times)
ELIGIBILITY:
Runners can be of any nationality, but have to be paid up members of Scottish Athletics
Many thanks and sincere apologies for any confusion.
The Fling age groups are not changing this year and VET categories will 40-49, 50-59 & 60+ (age on race day).
