Hello! Any suggestions about camping or cheap accomodation in Milngavie on Friday before the race, please? Thank you!

I found it really difficult to find reasonable accomodation in Milngavie so decided it was easier to stay in Glasgow City Centre and get a taxi to the start of the race. Overall it will still work out a lot cheaper than the quotes I was getting.
Staying at the Premier Inn.

I have phoned about various B&B's and they sam to be all full. Also both Premier Inns (Milngavie and Bearsden are full).
If runners are staying in Glasgow perhaps try and use same hotel and then could share taxis.
So if someone finds good accomodation, please post on Forum.
Cheers

I will be staying in a B+B in Glasgow, about 8 miles from the start. Place called Seton Guest House. £30 for a single person room with ensuite shower.

Hi Peter I am also staying at Seton Guest house, I was wondering if you had planned to get a taxi down to Milngavie on the Sat Morning?

I'm camping at Bankell Farm, I camped there last year too. Small site with simple facilities but nice hot showers in a large room housing the toilets and sinks too - electric light etc. Is about a mile down the road into Milngavie town centre. Owner is very relaxed about it all - used to people doing The Fling camping there.

It looks like there is the option of leaving the tent at Milngavie and getting the bus back, or putting the tent in the van to Tyndrum and staying overnight there. Tyndrum looks like a nice place, so leaning towards that...

I just left my tent up at Milngavie and then took the return bus back and crashed there - seemed easiest to me even though would have given me less of a drive back North on the Sunday

I'm also camping at BAnkell Farm and booked a campings site place at the By The Way in Tyndrum.Trouble is I also booked a bus back as well as bought a ticket for the ceilidh Silly amateur. I reckon it will be nicer to camp in Tyndrum, after a couple of pints. If I make it there. Trouble is I need to get back to Glasgow somehow on Sunday to catch an afternoon train. Hopefully I get a lift from someone.
