A huge thanks to everyone involved in the race organisation, including all the checkpoint folks, who were fantastic. You even laid on the weather and the scenery must have impressed those who had travelled from far and wide. Heck, even this east coast boy was impressed! My 3rd Fling - tough but enjoyable - Thanks again Ritchie

My 3rd Fling too and had a thoroughly good day. Thanks to the organisers and marshals for making it such a brilliant event.

Also my 1st Fling and I'll definitely be back. A friend of mine in Milngavie 'introduced' us to the Fling by posting pictures of route etc on FB & I was fascinated with the event. So with a clubmate I booked entry, flights from Ireland & accommodation. And I was not disappointed! Thanks to everyone involved Organisers, Marshalls, Supporters you were fantastic. (Unfortunately my local buddy had to defer her entry until next year but it means I've a good excuse to go back again in 2013 ) Just one small observation , given the absolutely beautiful route, scenery, views, it was a pity to see so much runners litter (Gel wrappers etc en route) & I started in the Over 40's group so was in front of a lot of people. I realise it's only a minority of people but doesn't reflect well on the running community for other users of the West Highland Way. Anyway thanks again everyone, hopefully see you again next year and we get similar weather, Jarlath

Unfortunately I think it's a feature of the race getting bigger. The bigger the event, the more I think some runners think that this kind of thing is "someone else's problem" and that the organisers will take care of it all. Each year I think that we ought to include a little spiel about "not littering" just before the start and each year I forget about it. It really shouldn't need saying but alas I think it does. :-( Glad you enjoyed the race, it really is a cracking event and I say this as a runner, not because of any association with the race organisation. I've done it 5 times now and I can't imagine NOT doing it next year as well. Tim
