Hi everyone I have just entered the H.F 2013 and I am both nervous and excited about it!! Especially as it's my first Ultra race of any kind......the longest I have ran to date is just under 30km so I have a lot of training to do between now and April!!!
I have loads of questions about the race but for now I'd like to know is it possible to have a 'Big drop' bag (as in big enough to carry my camping gear etc) brought to the finish area in Tyndrum. As I am hoping to camp in Tyndrum when the race is over for a day or 2 before traveling down to Glasgow and flying back to IRELAND? Thanks Paul

Paul
Cannot answer your 'big drop bag' question however I am also based in Ireland (Dublin).
Completed the Fling a couple of times. Maybe able to catch up for a training run or two and chat about the Fling.

Hi Raymond I have just got a very speedy reply to the drop bag question I posted on the Highland Fling facebook page and the answer is that it looks like my bag can be transported to the Tyndrum end free of charge which is great news. Even though I would have paid a few euros to have it at the finish line!
Did you post about the HF 2013 on the IMRA.ie forum?? If you did I posted a reply to it today asking a few questions maybe you could answer for me. Yea meeting up for a few training runs sounds like a great idea and I can pick your brains at the same time. I am based in Kildare and I try to get up around the Wicklow mountains for a long run about once a week. But I'll let you know now that I'm not that fastest of runners yet but its something I will be working on over the winter! Cheers Paul

hi all,
Yes we will have a large van at the race start/registration which can take large bags/rucks to the race finish in Tyndrum.
