Hi fatherjack good to hear you are on form and champing at the bit. I reckon Gisborough Mooors sounds like a good idea i would just treat it as a descent speed session in good company rather than a race. Sorry but i thought Tapers were for lighting Candles Especially in view of the fact that a couple of weeks after the FLING/LOCHABER i am of to Durness for the Cape Wrath Challenge Week, then a week after that i am doing the LDWA Yoredale 100 which is my main target at this point (i want to cover the distance in around 24 hrs) Gee it`s nice to not have to talk to myself although as a distance runner i guess i should be used to it

Fling/Lochaber/cape wrath I am looking forward to the same John, A week in Durness even with the 5 races in 6 days I find very relaxing. Only problem I have right now is do I do the 23 mile Cateran Trail race on the Sat before heading up to Cape Wrath. Taper is that not some kind of cat.

Of course you do the Cateran Trail George it will help keep you from doing a long run Hope you don`t mind but i think a poll might help you decide if i can get one to work.

I'm getting the feeling that some of you guys don't believe in tapering for races, just run some more eh? I feel so inadequate not planning a run for the day after, mind you if her indoors is up for it I might do a bit of Munro bagging , seeing as how I'm up there anyway
