Timothy do you think it would be a good idea to post the Train/Bus times (other options if any) back to Milngavie Glasgow on here as i feel it would help folk with there planning for the day.
Also last year it was suggested that if there was enough interest then it maybe possible to hire a mini bus for the return journey, do you know if that may be an option for folk this year?
These are just thoughts that come to mind based on my experiences last year, this year i am not returning to Glasgow but going on to Fort William.
Cheers John

Probably not a bad idea but I wonder how many folk actually went back by public transport last year?
Of course that's not a reason not to do it but I know I'll be enlisting my wife's help to get back and will no doubt have space for more runners. Regarding the minibus option, you should really speak to Ellen, I'm just the webmaster.
Are you volunteering to get the public transport info for me to put up? ;D

Timothy if i felt i could assist you then rest assured i would.
As to how many would use public transport i don`t know but i travelled back with 8 folks on one train last year and i am sure there were others on board that particular train, and there seems to be a higher entry level this year so one would assume more looking for options for return.
Maybe just a link to the relevant transport companies would suffice

Sorry about that. Got a photo you'd like put up? Email it to me (at tim@highlandflingrace.org) if you don't have webspace of your own.

Thanks to John's reminder and problems with the trains, we've organised a couple of 33-seat buses to take runners back direct from Tyndrum to Milngavie. Engineering work is being carried out on the railway South of Tyndrum on 26th April, so First Scotrail are providing a substitute bus service to Dalmuir. We will put the public transport info on the website, but feel that we should provide our own buses at 1800 and 2130. The direct journey takes approx 1 hour 15 minutes to Milngavie and will cost £10. Booking is essential to ensure folk know (or not) how they are getting home. Please note that booking will be first come (with cheque) mailed to me (payable to "Highland Fling") indicating which bus you wish to reserve.
We'll put all this info on the website, but wanted to give you all a little bit of notice. Cheers, Murdo

Well done, Tim, you spotted the change of plan.
Ellen felt that we should schedule the second bus at 2100 as everyone is usually finished by then.
So, just to confirm "Fling" bus schedule;
Dep. Tyndrum 1800 arr, Milngavie Railway Station 1915 Dep. Tyndrum 2100 arr, Milngavie Railway Station 2215
Cost £10 - please book early.

Thought I'd better post something to show everyone what the 'real' John Kynaston looks like!!!!!
BTW it's great to see so many signed up for the Highland Fling. It's going to be a great run.

Is there any chance of getting a minibus together to get people up to Fort William? I'm running the Lochaber Marathon the next day and need to work out how to get there?
