Is there any chance of getting a minibus together to get people up to Fort William? I'm running the Lochaber Marathon the next day and need to work out how to get there? What you need is to blag a lift of a fellow nutter. ;D I'm pretty sure GeorgeR is doing the double.

Just seen that there's a train at 8:45pm from Upper Tyndrum to Fort William on the Saturday.
That any use to you?

As long as I can run fast enough - I'm thinking I may need the whole 15 hours I was in Fort William on Friday, and have booked myself a room at the hotel opposite the station, so should be an easy enough journey. I guess if I can't manage the Fling in 15 hours, then doing a marathon the next day probably wouldn't be a good idea anyway...

Jen that`s just a little negative if you don`t mind me saying so, cause it makes perfect sense not to burn yourself out on the fling with the marathon on the sunday.
I reckon the fling and mara is a great idea, and as i say watch this space re getting from Tyndrum to Fort bill , cause as tim says GeorgeR was doing both as well as myself (well he was the last i knew)

I know - I was just concerned about how long it took me when I did the route over a week but at least I know what to expect now, and won't be stopping to take photos all the time George has offered a lift - just need to make sure I don't keep him waiting too long.

Hi Jen,
There is a Scottish Citylink Coach (916) that leaves Tyndrum at 0837 reaching Fort William Bus Station at 0959 costing £7 single. I believe the Lochaber Marathon starts at 1100. Registration goes on till 1030, so this should work out.
If you want to stay in Tyndrum there is still some space available in the "Fling" cottage. (details on website)
Cheers, Murdo.
