Hi I am new to endurance running and this is my first big race I have done Adventure Races 5 day & 6 day event none-stop but never 53 miles in on leg usually run 20 bike 40 kayak 10 and I would use my rucksack . I have a Salomon raid revo 20 which a small comfortable sack would this be to much on a run like this or should I use my karrimor bum bag which has 2 bottle holders and a small storage area please adveice me . Also can we put change of sockes or t shirts in our food bags and collect them at the end of the race or are bags dumped after each food drop

I guess it all depends on how much you are racing and how much you just want to do the distance, also do you want to run self supported or use the drop bags.
I have a wadi 15litre which I would use if I decide to use the drop bags and race
I have a Raidlight 30 if I decide to run self supported and carry everything and use as a training run.
I would think your revo 20 plus use the drop bags would be a better bet than trying to stuff everything into bum bag.
Dont leave anything at drop bags you want back, see else where on forum.

I have done a number of ultras over years. I will be using a bum bag with a bottle holder. And send extra gels and food to the drop bag C/Ps.
